AirPods Pro 2: More changes than you expected!!!

The AirPods Pro 2 feature more than what was expected in the rumors and leaks. Yes, there's no design overhaul and no new colors but there are tangible features that can make a difference and improve your experience with the AirPods. It's not the features but the actual sound that has improved. Not quite a generational leap but if you listen closely enough, you will notice slightly better clarity and it seemed a bit louder than before. The sound modulation is the same as before and Apple does not have seemed to change anything in the sound algorithms or manage the lows, mids or highs.

I am not a sound expert and will probably leave the minute and professional stuff to other incredibly capable and talented creators out there. A lot has changed on the outside of the case of the AirPods itself. There are a few more holes on the case and although that robs away a sense of poshness, they all serve very genuine purposes. At the bottom of the case, there are holes on either side of the lightning port. On the right side, there's a speaker to help you locate the case. You can play a sound from the Find My app and the case would play sounds from the 3-holed speaker. It's like an AirTag was embedded inside the AirPods case. On the left-hand side, there's another speaker grill which serves the same purpose.

There's a lanyard hole on the left of the case so that you can attach the case to backpacks and make sure that they are always within reach and securely tied. The AirPods also come with 4 silicone tips in the box instead of 3. There's a new extra small tips option. So, if you have been struggling till now to find the right fit, these might just do it for you. The AirPods case is also now compatible with more chargers - the MagSafe charger, Apple Watch charger and all Qi-wireless chargers. You can have the case engraved with emojis or text as you wish which I feel is extremely cool. There's an H2 in each AirPods that is claimed to be a lot more advanced than the original H1.

The Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) has improved a lot. In certain cases, there's a heaven-earth difference. Apple's claim of 2X better ANC performance seems to be holding up true. The market-leading Transparency mode is largely the same and delivers extreme clarity and it's almost as if the AirPods aren't even there except for the fact that it is not adaptable and can automatically increase or decrease the transparency level based on the environment. Pretty slick and cool. Another major development is personalized Spatial Audio. You have to try it out to feel it. Spacial Audio in itself was legendary and what personalized Spatial Audio does is map out your face and identify regions to create an immersive experience. You can alter it to your liking and it's really out of this world. Apple also claims to have improved battery life on the AirPods Pro 2. You now get up to 6 hours of listening time instead of the previous 4.5 and the case has a backup of 30hrs of battery instead of just 24.

I would also want to touch upon the longevity of the AirPods. I have had both the AirPods 2 and the AirPods Pro. I feel that with the Pro generation they have increased longevity. I had a terrible experience with AirPods 2 as they broke down within a year of me purchasing them from Australia. I had to get them replaced and the process of doing so was not as smooth as I expected it to be. I was one of the few people for whom the AirPods 2 were a good fit but they did not last very long in my ears when there was sweat from running. They seem to have fixed the problem with the Pros as I have been using them on a regular basis for over 1.5 years and they are still going strong. The battery life has slightly degraded but I only feel that when I am travelling by plane which is not very often since I am only 17.

They remain the best AirPods to have if you have an iPhone. The fluidity, connectivity, audio quality and seamlessness are the best in class and can hardly be challenged by someone. I would surely recommend getting a pair but it is just that Apple has hiked the prices of all products in India. It costs $250 in the US but a staggering 27,000Rs (338$) in India. It is impractical to buy them at this price point. I would consider buying them from the States if you can but otherwise, they are not worth the steep buck.
