If the Apple Watch Series 8 and SE were the iPhone 14 of the watch series, the Apple Watch Ultra is the iPhone 14 Pro Max. We all knew that an advanced upper-grade Apple Watch was in the works. We thought it would be called the Apple Watch Pro but we were wrong. But we were right about the fact that it was going to be a rugged version of the Apple Watch and something that was going to be geared for the outdoors rather than casual wear and indoors. We also knew that it was not going to be a premium and much more expensive version of the Apple Watch Series 8 since that already exists in the form of stainless steel case Apple Watches with their chain bands and Hermes leather bands.

The Series Ultra is a big departure from the previous Apple Watches. Firstly, it is huge - 49mm to be precise which makes it 4mm larger than the largest Series 8 watch. It is squared off at the corners and the display sits flush with the surface rather than sticking out and being curved. It is bulky both in looks and feels. This watch is a professional athlete's and extreme adventurer's dream. These people were relying on Garmin till now but Apple is going to change that very soon as it does in every category it forays into. It only comes in titanium casing and cellular configuration and is geared for the outdoor harsh environment such as diving, hiking, dessert voyaging, and every extreme adventure you could imagine. It has specially designed bands to stay put and has up to 60 hours of battery life.

The display goes up to 2000 nits and is vibrant. It has a night mode to reduce the strain on the eyes in dark conditions and can be turned on with the rotation of the crown. There's a new bright orange action button on the left side of the watch that can be configured. The watch's GPS and the compass have been tweaked to be more precise. It can also alert others in cases of emergency by producing sounds that can be heard as far as 160ft from the speakers. There are also 3 specially designed microphones to improve sound connectivity. It costs an exorbitant $800(90,000Rs).

The bright Always‑On screen makes detailed watch faces look stunning and easy to read, even when your wrist is down. The large display makes tapping, typing, and swiping a snap. A thick front crystal, robust geometry, and flat base make it resistant to cracking. It is water-resistant up to 100m and has an IP6X dust resistance rating. Wayfinder watch face with Night Mode. Specifically for Apple Watch Ultra, the Wayfinder face features a time dial that can be switched to a live compass and has room for eight complications. I am not sure how suitable this watch would be for everyday usage. It would be very conspicuous and is not something everyone can pull off.

The Special Action Button can be customized to mark a Compass Waypoint, start Backtrack, control a workout, begin a dive, and more. A traditional GPS solution with just L1 GPS works well most of the time. But it can be tricky when tall buildings, trees, or dense foliage block satellites. The newer L5 GPS enables advanced signal processing, reducing many errors and providing a more consistent signal in environments like dense cities. You can also now get the data from your dive immediately after you surface, including your GPS entry and exit points. It syncs automatically to your iPhone and the cloud. You can see a summary of your dive profile and check out your logbook to search through past dives or share your experiences with friends and family.

Using a new depth gauge, the Depth app is ideal for snorkeling or any casual underwater activity. See the time, current depth, water temperature, duration underwater, and maximum depth you’ve reached. It can even activate automatically when you submerge. Emergency SOS makes sure that you always remain safe. All you have to do to activate it is press and hold the side button to quickly contact emergency services and provide them with your location. For a period of time, your emergency contacts will get updates when your location changes.

One of the really cool features of Apple's website is that you can experience new products using Augmented Reality. This makes the product feel like they are right in front of you which gives you a better sense of what they are like in real life. It can be very important in making decisions. This gives people another opportunity to check out the advanced features of their iPads and iPhones which have Lidar and are very good at Augmented Reality.
