THE AWKWARD WIRELESS CHARGER

We all now have phones which we can slap onto the back of a hot plate aka wireless charger and it would start charging. But wireless charging is not wireless in most cases, especially wireless charging docks. How can you even call a wireless charger "wireless” if it has a wire connected to it? It beats the whole intention of creating a “convenience” device in the first place.
We are better off plugging our devices for the following reasons :
You can use it while charging (not advised though)
Your phone would not detach if the wire tripped
No loss of energy and heat as there is a direct connection as opposed to two coils that are not in contact
I feel that the events where wireless charging actually makes sense are when you have to charge multiple devices at once or if you are in a car. Although it would be thoughtful to say that some car wireless chargers are unbelievably slow.

Wireless look cool on your bedside table but are absurdly expensive for the kind of functionality they offer. Although it does away with replacing your cables every now and then (looking at you, Apple chargers). Apple’s MagSafe makes a satisfying clicking sound like every other device where they employ magnets but is hard to justify unless you are an Apple sheep.

And hopping to the wireless charger bandwagon requires more than just the charging pad. You will most probably need to buy a faster, more powerful charger as well to compensate for the loss of energy.
The way I look at it, wireless chargers are like the awkward middle children and jack of all trades but master of none.
