72 out of 100 mobile users on the planet use the Android OS. But Android in itself is a vague term as a clutch of companies using the Android OS. It is an open-source OS. But the mammoth players are mainly Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Realme and then some. But there is one that invariably stands out in terms of market share, experience, quality and other parameters too - Samsung.

Samsung has a strong foothold in all market segmentations and is the first one to be compared to the latest iPhone. But increasingly, there has been a decline in Samsung’s market share in cost-sensitive countries like India because Chinese tech firms, wanting a piece of the gold rush, have hastily capitalized on the large population of India that is planning to get a smartphone for the first time. By concentrating all efforts and making the budget segment its pivot, they have been successful in denting Samsung.

But the price isn’t everything. All Chinese smartphones have been found to have a blatant disregard for laws of the land, privacy and security. Everything you do on a Chinese smartphone is recorded, taped, watched, reviewed, auctioned and sold. None of your photos, files, or apps are in your control. This illegal act of invasion of privacy is contagious. Even the Defense Department of India recently requested all of its employees to get rid of Chinese phones. As in the case of TikTok and a host of Chinese apps, this grade of surveillance is state-sponsored by the Dictatorship which exists in China. The whole world is a victim of China’s war-mongering and infringement of human rights which are amputated the moment you take your first breath in China.

Samsung being a South Korean company is reputable in its resolution of protecting what is YOURS. Samsung KNOX and other such technologies in place ensure that you can sleep peacefully for the most part. Samsung is not without faults of its own, it is just that in comparison to Chinese companies, they are minuscule. The sole 2 companies I trust are Apple and Samsung respectively in terms of privacy.

But we shouldn’t be short-sighted at any time and take responsibility for ourselves because no one provides wholly anonymity and privacy. Apart from privacy concerns, Samsung is much better to use and is tightly integrated. I am fond of the animations, wallpapers, app functionality, order and just the general experience. If I had to choose only one android brand for the rest of my life, it would be Samsung all day every day. They have had a fair share of scandals of their own but nothing that harms the end user in a profound way.
